WRT filters:
1: currently active inventory filters are always connected via logic AND. i know that within filters you can specify whether all or any filter conditions should be met. when combining filters in the inventory however there is no such option. this behavior is ok if you have a filter for lets say "high slots modules" and "unpacked items" - those filters will work together just fine. but activating "high slot modules" and "low slot modules" at the same time obviously doesn't yield any results. it should be possible to connect active filter sets via logic OR as well in order to make the tool more powerful.
2: so i ditched my "folder" strategy consisting of 15 containers and created the appropriate filters in order to replicate the previous layout. this is great because all items are in the same location now, can be accessed in the contract system from remote locations and fitting ships from within the fitting browser works as intended now. however, when i bring home loot i want to keep these items separated from my stock of items. some i might want to keep, some i want to sell, some need repair, most will need repackaging, others will already be packed and in general looted items are of completely arbitrary type. currently there is no way to handle these items with filters. in order to that there should be some kind of "recently added" filter, allowing me to specify a time span so i can actually identify the loot once i dragged it into my inventory. my current workaround is to use a container for loot - obviously you can't repackage and repair inside a container which turns the whole repair, repackage and decide what to do with the item thing into way more work than it should be.
3: also, if you get to work on the logical OR: please also add the option to negate filters. that way you get the whole bool algebra working. for example negating all filters and connecting them via AND would yield items that are currently not tracked by any filter. or filtering by charges but subtracting ammo could remove lots of items when looting for scripts. there are lots of useful applications ... |
